LABOUR DAY
BS"D
I finally had a day to relax today, between teaching at Pardes in Israel, helping refugees from the war, rushing back to Victoria to help take care of my Mum after her accident, try to catch up on the bazillions of e-mails & phone messages, arrange my teaching & sofrut engagements for the Autumn, &, &, &...
So I went to the Day of Jewish Unity with some friends. It was beautiful. Hundreds of Jews & their kids & dogs out in the fresh air & sunshine by the river on Labour Day. Gorgeous!
I even took a "test your Jewish IQ" quiz & got 100%, so I won an Vancouver NCSY hoodie.
I will be teaching, speaking & restoring Torah scrolls at Congregation Bnai Amoona in St Louis, Missouri, as of tomorrow.
This lovely community's P.R. for my visit includes this:
Thursday, Sept 7 11:30am - 1:30pm - "Soferet: Woman as Sacred Scribe"
Soferet Avielah Barclay will share her journey to become the world's only certified female Hebrew scribe & the first woman to write Jewish sacred scrolls in over 200 years.
