SCRIBAL EVANGELIST As the only living certified Soferet (סופרת - female Jewish ritual scribe) & the first woman to practice sofrut (creation of sacred Hebrew texts) in over 200 years, I feel an obligation to blog about my experiences of The Work. Hi, Alissa - I have YOU to thank for this - you & R' Ross Singer & Naomi Voss & so many other people who have been supporting me in my sofrut work for years & years. You worked SO HARD on the Shaarey Tefilah Megillat Esther Project & you wrote articles & you TOTALLY networked the JOFA conference away back when I was just starting out with my fresh, new, shiny-white sofrut certification. So you should be proud of yourself too, because you helped me earn this honour.
