נחזיר את השכינה למקומה בצייון ובתבל כלה

So wherever we are, let us bring the Peace of G@d's Presence.

SCRIBAL EVANGELIST As the only living certified Soferet (סופרת - female Jewish ritual scribe) & the first woman to practice sofrut (creation of sacred Hebrew texts) in over 200 years, I feel an obligation to blog about my experiences of The Work. I am also currently researching the foundation of a lost tradtion of women practicing this holy craft. For more on the services I provide, please see; Sofrut Nation. I am now available to engage with students, male or female, wishing to enter into the preliminary stage of learning sofrut. You are welcome to join me on this path. Written Out of History: Our Jewish Foremothers – Sondra Henry & Emily Taitz 1983 Second Edition, Revised Biblio Press

“It was rare to find a footnote such as this one by an anonymous woman:

‘I beseech the reader not to judge me harshly when he finds that mistakes have crept into this work; for when I was engaged in copying it, God blessed me with a son, and thus I could not attend to my business properly.’”

See Goitein, Sidrei Hinukh, p. 64

...So there seems to be evidence of a gap between theory & practice. Definitely worth further investigation.
